Burial Ground

Burial Ground, 2016. (Images from 3/27/16-5/15/16)

Buried at Oakwilde Sculpture Park near Stockton, CA, suspended in a redwood box, is a decaying rainbow trout stuffed with selected organic and inorganic materials, which will be revealed as the fish deteriorates. The process of decomposition is being documented by a camera inside the box that takes a picture every hour and uploads it to the internet. This obsessive meditation on loss, decay, and absence is a response to a previous installation titled Spawning Ground, which focused on hope, reproduction, and inheritance.  Check back frequently as this time-lapse video will be updated weekly and an hourly image update is forthcoming.
